I am following this case from across the pond, and there were numerous shock and awe moments for me. I was left with the impression that these people did not understand the legal framework which forms the basis for their jobs.
Manchester City Council: I learnt yesterday (on asking duck.ai) that Andy Burnham as Mayor of Greater Manchester is a strong supporter of "trans rights", and put £100,000 into a trans project for the city.
Burnham hopes to be our next Labour Prime Minister.
Sall Grover ruling has me beside myself. I'm equally aggravated w the lawyer who failed to do the same critical thinking work, even just w the more recent studies and research on the truths about Trans Identifying Males in women only spaces, or the ongoing erasure of women. The truth is coming out, and yet males stay the same; defensive of male privileges, even more so when he claims to be she, I'm guessing bc it erases that issue they fear us cluing into - we don't want a financial payoff, we want full & autonomous control & authority of the weapons they use to cause harm. Gisèle-Maxwell's are gloved male hands, we need more Caroline's-RBG's-Elizabeth Cady Stantons.
Great writing as always Jo. Have been observing remotely and it’s very clear that Lorna is a thoughtful and principled woman hounded out of her job by a cowardly and spiteful mob. I’m delighted their appalling behaviour is getting the exposure it so richly deserves.

Damn. It is a witch hunt, and as if the Supreme Court ruling a year ago never happened. No legal basis whatsoever, and yet they're doing it.

Lorna is the very same kind of “witch” that has always been persecuted: a woman who says no to men & their handmaidens.
